Story Book Gardens is a collection of stories and mini-gardens for reading, playing, and exploring in downtown Three Lakes.
Last summer our first “seedling” Story Book Gardens blossomed at the Reiter Center, Historical Museum, and Demmer Library – and more than 65 children completed the punch card passport for visiting all of them!
This summer the gardens are spreading! Look for new gardens in downtown Three Lakes:
- Lick-A-Dee Splitz
- Mind Chimes Bookshop
- Three Lakes Pharmacy
- Fika Bakery & Coffee
- The Little Dipper
- The Gathering Space
With these new gardens, we will have 12 interactive story spaces in three outdoor locations within easy walking distance of each other in downtown Three Lakes.
Each garden features a bench, an interactivity, and a small “library” donated by the Three Lakes Lions Club and built by a local volunteer, painted by students in the Three Lakes School 7-12 art program and community volunteers. The libraries contain fiction and non-fiction story books related to the theme of the garden for families to read together.
Pick up your brochure with map to all locations at the Three Lakes Chamber or the Demmer Library, visit them all, and then stop by the Demmer Library with your punched brochure to claim your reward!
