Celebrate National Library Week at the Demmer Library April 7–11, 2025

[Three Lakes, WI] – What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.

National Library Week, April 7–11, 2025, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.

Whatever draws you in, the library has something for everyone. Whether you’re preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family, or embracing retirement, the Demmer is here to support your journey. Our library provides free Wi-Fi, digital collections, a library of things, study rooms, meeting spaces, and a Libratory for crafting and more. Libraries serve as hubs for learning, creativity, and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities. Libraries also look to the future to ensure community success!

Join us for special National Library Week events where we are “Drawn to the Future”:

  • AI 101 w/Erica Brewster – Are you AI-curious? AI-confused? Maybe even a little AI-fearful? Or just wondering why everyone keeps talking about it? Be at either the 2:30pm or 5:30pm session on April 9th in the Demmer Maple Room for this beginner-friendly session.  Erica will share how she’s been gently using generative AI in both her work and personal life—where it’s helpful, when to steer clear, and how to protect your privacy in the process. Even if you never plan to use ChatGPT or other AI tools yourself, being AI-aware can help you spot misinformation, avoid scams, and better understand how AI is already shaping the world around you.
  • Community Collaborative Project – All ages can drop by the library during open hours see how they can contribute to our “Time Travel” box.
  • “Drawn to the Future” Movie Day – On Thursday, April 10th the Demmer Library will have three movie showings at 10m, 12:30pm, and 3:00pm. All movies are rated PG, are free to the public and popcorn will be provided.

This National Library Week take time to rediscover the library and see how it draws us together and to the future.

First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
